Pachuliwurm

Pachuliwurms are overlarge mutations made from human and several species of deep sea worm genes. The experiment began as a way of creating genetically engineered human beings capable of surviving in extremely harsh environments. the Pachuliwurms began as small larvae, but soon matured into 12 foot adults and quickly escaped from confinement. Several made their way into the sea, and have been found forming primitive communities around deep sea vents in the Pacific.

Prosphirrhini

Prosphirrhini are strange, one-eyed, multi-limbed, primate-like creatures which inhabit the jungle canopies of their native planet. The creatures are omnivorous, and use their highly sophisticated senses and extreme agility to capture small prey. The Prosphirrhini live in elaborate treetop warrens made from masticated leaves, branches, and other natural materials. The tunnels in these networks may extend for miles. They show signs of an emerging intelligence, as complex social behaviors have been observed, including marriage, religious, and death rituals.

The Khmer dragon (called a Neak,) is similar to the Indian Naga. They are depicted as cobras with multiple heads, the odd numbered being male with even being female. The more heads a Neak has, the higher it's rank.

Azazel was a "rugged spirit" to which the ancient Israelites scarified a goat to during Yom Kippur. The goat was meant to take away all of the sins and transgressions from the community, and is the origin of the term "Scapegoat."

According to the Book of Enoch, Azazel was the leader of the rebellious angels who took a liking to human women and begot the Nephilim.

The result of a bizarre experiment by a small time farmer to strengthen his dwindling chicken stock. Chicken Monkeys became a national phenomenon. Easy to raise, fun to train, soon every kid in America had their own Chicken Monkey pet. The export of Chicken Monkeys became a highly profitable business, although many animal rights organizations advocate to ban their export when it was learned they were being used as a food source in other countries.

The Green men of Barsoom


The green men of Barsoom are a race of large humanoids which inhabit Barsoom (Mars) in the a series of novels written by Edgar Rice Burroughs. They are described as between ten to twelve feet tall (in some instances as much as fifteen feet,) have four arms, and a deep green skin. Their eyes are large and red, and protrude from the side of the head. The males have large curving tusks. They are savage and primitive, have no sense of family, and share everything in a communal society. They are named after the abandoned cities which they inhabit, and are constantly at war with one another and the other races on Mars. The "hordes" of green men are typically named after the abandoned cities which they inhabit, Tharks, Warhoons, etc.

Mudeater

Mudeaters were originally artificially created creatures made by splicing together canine, caterpillar, baboon, and earthworm DNA. The creature has the ability to rapidly tunnel through the Earth, and took to living in large warrens of several dozen individuals. Despite their fierce appearance they are quite harmless, and subsist on a diet of small insects, rodents, and other assorted organic matter which litters the forest floor.

The Llamhigyn Y Dwr, or "Water Leaper" is a monster from Welsh myth. It takes the form of a large, legless amphibian with bat-like wings and a long, barbed tail. The creature is blamed for broken fishing lines, missing livestock, and has even been known to attack humans.

Krylippitah the sleeper

Krylippitah was once one of the most feared assassins in the galaxy. Due to the extreme longevity of his race his prowess and abilities became legendary. All of that changed during a shuttle accident during a mission for the Parandroid confederation. Krylippitah survived in a permanent coma with all of this limbs destroyed. The Parandroid confederation outfitted him with a heavy utility harness with a neural-network interface. Krylippitah has since gone back to his former occupation.

Fidopholump

The Fidopholump is another designer pet by the Cristix corporation, this one genetically engineered by a combination of dog, kangaroo, and grizzly bear. The resulting creature is large and friendly. The Fidopholump sold well and was a huge success. It soon became apparent that the creatures were highly protective and territorial, and would attack anything perceived as a threat to it's master, especially other Fidopholumps. A cottage industry of Fidopholump training schools have appeared to address this problem.

An animated corpse with a carved pumpkin in place of it's head. These creatures are usually created with a specific task in mind. The Pumpkin Wraith will single mindedly go about the duty it is charged with, will ignore all dangers or obstacles, and will attack anyone who tries to impede them. After the task is fulfilled the Pumpkin Wraith dissolves on the spot. They are often created for revenge plots or assassinations.

Zathoid


Zathoids are large predatory arachnids. They were originally a small, harmless species on a small away planet. Centuries of genetic manipulation have turned them into towering beasts, able to tear apart prey limb from limb. When raised with the proper controls Zathoids can show an abnormal amount of loyalty, having been known to actively place themselves in dangerous situations to protect their masters. They are usually employed as pets and guard dogs.

They do not possess eyes, and instead maneuver through a combination of highly developed smell and a type of sonar. This sonar-sense is so accurate that the creature can track multiple targets in a 360 degree radius at the same time.

Segmeturite

Segmeturites are large, herd-dwelling, grazing animals akin to cattle. Their bodies are covered in a highly flexible but extremely durable body armor, with an orifice on the top. The creature's "head" is projected from the orifice on a very long, flexible neck, in order to spot predators from miles away over it's flat grassland habitat. This "head" merely contains the eyes, the brain is located inside the center of the body. When under attack the Segmeturite withdraws the false head into the body cavity and rolls into a ball, which is nearly impregnable to tooth and claw.

Squashapus

The Squashapus is a genetically engineered animal/vegetable hybrid. They were originally created as designer pets, but given their mean disposition they eventually found their way into the illegal bio-gladiator market, forced to fight other unnatural creations for entertainment and gambling purposes. Hundreds of such creatures are born and bred for such tournaments world wide. Although these tournaments are illegal in most western countries, they tend to flourish in the more lawless areas of the third world.

Barugon

This is Barugon, from the 1966 movie Gamera vs. Barugon (or War of the Monsters in the USA.) Barugon is a giant lizard creature with a long, bulbous tongue that can freeze things and has the ability to shoot a rainbow-ray from his back spines.

I've always thought this was a very "happy" looking monster.

Ratclopes


Ratclopes are strange, one-eyed rodent mutations that suddenly appeared in central Asia but have quickly spread outward, and have now been spotted on five continents. They are capable of growing up to 3 feet long (including tail) and eat twice their body weight a day. Given proper weather conditions, Ratclopes will spawn by the millions and devastate crops and farmlands. Unlike other rodent species they are highly aggressive, and when food is scarce have been known to attack dogs, cattle, or even people.
