Meremouse

The Mermouse is a strange mutant, the result of a bizarre experiment combining fish and rodent DNA to create an alternative food source. The resulting monstrosity quickly escaped from the lab, and has been pushing out local wild life. The creatures breed at an alarming rate, and should be killed on sight.

Memophage, eaters of memory

In the deep wet dark dwell the Memnophage, the eaters of memory. These twisted, serpent like creatures are neither demon nor beast, but an unholy mixture of the two. They travel in schools along the bottom of the Styx, plucking away the stray traveler who chances to travel too close. Memnophages have been known to attack demon and soul alike, and as such are usually periodically exterminated to keep their populations low.

He who is taken victim is left alive, but is drained of all knowledge of everything, even the knowledge of how to walk and speak. A soul left in such a state will find himself in dire straights indeed.

Itchychidquliqk

The Itchychidquliqk is a creature sighted roaming around the sewers of a major American city. The creature is thought to be some type of strange mutation spawned from illegal dumping of radioactive waste. Multiple eyewitness reports have been collected of the creature, but as of yet there is no hard evidence for it's existence.

Merganish

Merganish are a strange breed of fish which have recently moved into the polluted waters off the Southern coasts of the United States. They feed upon the rampant algae which carpet the sea bottom due to phosphate pollution. The Merganish seem to be highly intelligent, and have been observed using organized "strike teams" to attack fishing boats.

Skibbesish

Skibbesish are strange, air breathing, land walking fish. Eons ago, when the first creatures came up onto land, a small population evolved in a different direction away from Amphibians, into a completely separate animal kingdom. Skibbesishes are the sole surviving species of this peculiar branch of evolution, and are among the most primitive land dwellers still in existence.

Bufishnny

Bufishnnies are the result of an experiment to create a quickly breeding species to replace dwindling fishing stock. Despite protests from the animal rights and environmental lobby, the result was declared a success, and commercial Bufishnny fishing has become a multi-million dollar industry.

Ganoid

Ganoids are bipedal creatures which evolved from sea-going, eel-like ancestors. They are still semi-aquatic, and are capable of respiration under water as well as on land. They have a ritualistic warrior culture, and there are often multiple conflicts occuring at once across the surface of their native planet.

Burger Fish

A strange amalgamation of Fish and Hamburger. The Burger Fish was created by fast food scientists. Although they scored high on blind taste tests, most people when told what they were eating found the resulting burger "icky" and "disgusting."

Itchyothid

Itchyothids are bipedal fish-men. They live in loose, nomadic "schools" which travel along the ocean floors of their home planet. Itchyothids are capable of staying for a limited time out of water, but remain in danger of their skin drying out if away for too long.

Ohpelapod

Ohpelapods are bizarre mutations which recently began appearing off of Japan's northwest coast. It has not yet been determined what exactly caused this mutation, although authorities have not yet ruled out recent nuclear accidents. The creatures seem to possess a mixture of fish, sea slug, octopus, and shark DNA. Ohpelapods so far have been shown to be highly aggressive, and their impact on the ecology of the area is unknown.

ManCarp

ManCarps are genetically engineered chimeras combining DNA from human beings and various types of fish. The original intention was to create an artificial source for an effective cholesterol fighting medicine, however the resulting creature showed near human level intelligence. It wasn't long before the specimens escaped the lab, and with their ability to move both over land and in water easily eluded capture. ManCarps are still seen occasionally in the wild marshes and swamps of southern Florida's keys, where it is believed a small population still persists to this day.

Itchlodyte

Itchlodytes are primitive, proto-fish men which live in a small nomadic community along a deep pacific trench. They follow a large pod of whales and exploit them the same way that Native Americans followed herds of buffalo. This has brought them into open conflict with whaling vessels, who they view as destroying their way of life. Itchlodytes have been known to foul propellers, drill holes into ships, or board them and fight hand to hand in extreme cases.

Skivviywik

The Skivviywik is a bizarre mutant created from the detritus of other experiments. A strange electrical surge into a bio-vat containing a primordial soup of fish, monkey, tube-worm, and mollusk DNA spontaneously generated the strange creature. After an initial period of confusion and violent outburst, the Skivviywik went on to earn a doctorate in theoretical physics and now servers a high position with a government contractor making advanced particle weapons and propulsion systems.

Ichicapian

Ichicapians are a degenerate race of mutated fish people which live in the Atlantic deep sea trench. Years of radioactive pollution dumped by unscrupulous corporations have mutated a once peaceful and highly intelligent people into base, war-like monsters. Their constant warring among themselves is the only thing which keeps them from invading the surface world.

Fiklabb

The Fiklabb is a strange mutant hybrid between a type of ancient shark and giant Alaskan king crab. The creatures are a result of mutations from illegal toxic waste dumping off the coast of Alaska by private energy companies in collusion with a corrupt governor looking to develop Alaska's protected coastal wildlife areas. Fiklabbs are now blamed for dozens of deaths per year, as the huge claws seem perfectly adapted at plucking the stray fisherman or passenger off of passing watercraft.

Terrocanlyth

Terrocanlyth are massive predatory fish, measuring up to 20m (60 feet) from head to tail. They are covered in bony plates which protect from the bites of other Terrocanlyths, as well as the thrown harpoon. The huge creatures have been known to stalk and capsize fishing and whaling vessels to get at the meat inside.
