Terrschneckes are a bred of large, land dwelling mollusks. Like other land mollusks (such as snails or slugs,) Terrschneckes have only one "foot," however they have evolved a number of stump-like protrusions which act as "legs," which allows the creature to obtain considerable speeds when chasing prey. Terrschneckes have no eyes, it is believed they navigate though smell and a form of echo location.
Dragon men are a race of ancient human-dragon hybrids, created by the ancient Dragon lords to be used as higher minions. In times past the Dragon men acted as generals and lieutenants overseeing the battles between vast armies as the Dragon lords warred among themselves. In the cataclysm brought about by the constant battle this race of hybrids nearly perished. They have survived by isolating themselves in various hidden places of the world, waiting for the time when their slumbering lords may yet rise again and renew the conflict.
The Andromniote are a species of lizard-like creatures which inhabit a small, isolated island in the south Pacific. They grow to be 4-6 feet long, and have extremely high intelligence for reptiles. A highly advanced system of caves and catacombs have been discovered, in which it's believed the Andromniotes live in a hierarchical society. Further study is lacking however due to the fact that the creatures do not take kindly to trespassers, and will harass and or otherwise attempt to drive them from the island.
Catterwurms are overlarge (3-5 feet long) insects which have evolved to never progress past the larval stage. Catterwurms begin as small, tree-dwelling creatures, but adapt to ground dwelling herds as they grow larger. As adults they organize themselves into hierarchical herds, with alpha males and a strict pecking order.

In Frank Herbert's Dune novels, a Slig is a slug/pig hybrid created by the Bene Tleilaxu. They are bred for their meat (described as "The sweetest meat this side of heaven,") and for their ability to feed on and control garbage. The Tleilaxu themselves do not eat Slig meat, which they regard according to their strict religious practices as "unclean."
