The Countess of Blood

Ezliabeth Bathory was a Hungarian Countess, who is alleged to have tortured and killed over six hundred victims, the majority of which were young peasant girls. Legends arose of vampiric behavior, such as her drinking and bathing in the blood of young virgins to retain her youth.

By 1610 when Bathory began to prey upon the daughters of lesser nobility public outcry became so great that she was finally apprehended. Her four servants were brutally tortured, imprisoned, and executed (including having their fingers ripped off, beheaded, then burned at the stake.) As a member of the nobility Elizabeth herself escaped execution, but spent the last four years of her life walled up in a set of rooms, with no human contact, until she finally died. Local legend maintains she arose as a vampire after her death.

Succlumite

Succlumites are small insectoid aliens that evolved from parasites. They have a very hyperactive nature, as well as a relatively short life span (5-15 years.) Succlumites enjoy feasting on the blood of other species, often importing it and trading it like fine wines.

Blood Louse

The Blood Louse is an overlarge parasitic insect, specimens of which over 5 feet long have been observed. On it's native planet the creatures are comparatively small to their chosen host creatures, and feed much like ordinary lice do. The small populations which have been taken off planet have adapted to a more predatory lifestyle.

Vampires

The undead come in many shapes and sizes, but no myths are so prevalent than that of Vampires. Such creatures as these which prey upon the blood or life force of the living can be found in the folklore of nearly all peoples, and allowing for cultural differences describe nearly the same thing: A person who dies under mysterious circumstances, who then returns from the grave to torment and prey upon former friends and relatives. The standard Vampire of popular culture is inspired loosely from Eastern European tradition, and takes the form of an immortal youth, beautiful but pale, weakly looking but supernaturally strong, who perishes in direct sunlight and must consume blood to survive.

Are Vampires real? Of the supernatural variety sadly not, although there are real life medical conditions which may have contributed to the myth.

Blood Idol

A Blood Idol is large fetish statue which stems from several related Polynesian tribes. When the tribe is in danger of being wiped out from an outside threat, the shaman performs a dark ritual over the inanimate form of the Blood Idol. Samples of blood are donated from each member of the village. The blood is poured over the wooden figure, and when the proper spirits are invoked the figure comes to life to hunt down the tribe's enemies. Once animated the Blood Idol will follow it's initial instructions to the letter, and will not stop until all of the offending party are destroyed.

Lampus Worm

Lampus worms are large, blood sucking worms, which grow to around 6 inches in length. They are extremely hardy creatures, and have shown to survive freezing, extreme heat, pressure variations, and radiation. They can adapt to nearly every environment, but will go into extended periods of hibernation for as yet unknown reasons. This causes infestations of Lampus worms to flare up in easily predicted cycles.
