Floob

Floobs are small, dog-like creatures created as designer pets by splicing pig, chihuahua, and human DNA. The creatures are highly intelligent, bordering on a human level intellect. Floobs are nearly universally banned world wide, but are still sold in a highly lucrative black market.

Dwurm

Dwurms are the result of a failed venture into the designer pet market by the Cristix corporation. Created by genetically engineering a duck with lizard, bot fly, and deep sea worm genes. The resulting animal, while stable, was generally thought of as "ugly" by consumers. After widespread reports of Dwurms running away and migrating south for the winter they were pulled from the market.

Biotrappers

The Biotrappers are a race of creatures who have so manipulated their genetic code that they no longer possess any of their original genome. Due to centuries of tampering the entire race is now sterile, traditional reproduction is impossible. Offspring are created in laboratories and are highly specialized into several different castes, each possessing different physical attributes. Even after birth genetic manipulation continues, thus one may encounter a Biotrapper with any number of eyes, limbs, mouths, skin color, etc.

Professor Squidhead

A scientist wracked with insanity, young Professor Donaldson was the world's leading researcher of celaphod genetics. Donaldson eventually became convinced that Squids were the evolutionary precursors to mankind. The laughing stock of the scientific community, Donaldson continued his work in private, finally isolating what he called the "Prometheus Gene" from multiple breeds of common squid. Donaldson engineered a retrovirus with gene and injected himself, transforming into the hideous Professor Squidhead! Those who laughed at him now run in fear...
