Goblin Jester

Nory Nibblenog is the royal court jester for the Goblin king. His festive look belies his training as a master assasin. Silly clothes and bright colors are designed to distract and keep his targets laughing, so they don't see the knife before it's too late.

Slortch

Slortch is one hundred and fifty years old,
and lives inside a cave,
Like everyone who hates the world,
He never really learned to behave.

When he was young, he was wild,
causing havoc all around the town,
drinking, fighting, dancing with girls,
at the disco, gettin' down.

Now he wanders alone in the dark,
eating fish heads and hay.
No other souls for miles around,
Truth is he likes it that way.

Gremlins

Gremlins are supernatural creatures to whom mechanical malfunctions are attributed. During World War II air force pilots often blamed such technical difficulties on sabotage from the Gremlins. They were attributed a large number of disruptive abilities, such as the ability to siphon off fuel, cause instruments to give false readings, or raise and lower the runway by ten feet.

I imagine that modern gremlins have probably gone on to destroy and dismantle the wide variety of computers, video game systems, and other types of consumer electronics.

Grolshlemin

Grolshlemins are bizarre, mutant Gremlins, horribly transformed after long term exposure to nuclear waste. Like normal gremlins, they enjoy causing havoc and destroying machinery, but their exposure to radiation have given them immunity to sunlight.

Grobwali

A Grobwali is a rare half-dwarf, half-goblin hybrid. As the two races are diametrically opposed arch enemies which attack each other on sight such parings are uncommon indeed. Grobwali are usually overly large (that is, large for either a dwarf or goblin.) Unlike Goblins they can move about without ill effect in daylight, and will usually have some form of facial hair. Grobwali will usually have some form of congenital birth defect, such as a hunch back, club foot, facial deformities, and so on.

Grobwali are usually seen as outcasts from both Dwarf and Goblin societies, and usually end up as bitter loners and hermits.

Groblin

Check SpellingGroblins are mutated space goblins from another planet. Thousands of years ago, one enterprising goblin used dark science and arcane magics to construct a vehicle capable of space travel. He soon departed with several dozen of his kinsfolk, and was never heard from again...

A thousand years later, the same derelict spaceship crashed into the Earth. The ship itself had been reconstructed and added to almost to the point where it was unrecognizable. So too were it's inhabitants - the vile creatures subjected to a thousand years of inbreeding, crossbreeding with alien species, and mutation from cosmic rays. The Groblin horde (now numbering several thousand) used their advanced technology to immediately subjugate several different goblin tribes in the immediate area and set up an dystopian city state. They see themselves as superior to normal terrestrial goblins, and have visions of forming a vast interstellar empire.

Hobgoblins

Hobgoblins originated in European folklore as household spirits (which probably evolved from a form of ancient ancestor worship,) and played a similar role to goblins, brownies, pixies, etc. They were generally not seen as "evil," but would play tricks if not given the proper respect.

In modern fantasy fiction, Hobgoblins are a larger, stronger, brutish form of goblin. They are usually a greenish color, have features of various animals (claws, pig noses, etc.) and are mostly beholden to some figure of greater evil.

BugBear

BugBears were original creatures in European myth, similar to Brownies, Nixies, Hobgoblins, and other forest creatures. BugBears were envisioned as large, hairy monsters that would abduct naughty children. In modern fantasy fiction, they have become a race of larger, stronger, deadlier Goblins, usually acting as the "boss" of a group of weaker troops, and beholden to a superior (evil) power.

Fairy

A Fairy is a type of primordial nature spirit, usually connected to forests or woodlands. The term refers to many different types of supernatural entity (brownies, pixies, nixies, goblins, trolls, etc.) as well as with anything to do with the supernatural realm, i.e. "the Land of fey," or "Morgan Le Fay." In western European belief they originated either as fallen angels or as a distinct species all their own. Much of mythology has to deal with how one avoids fairy mischief, such as charms to keep them away, prevent them from stealing babies, etc.

Tomte

The Tomte is a Scandinavian household spirit. If treated correctly a Tomte will adopt a farmer's home and protect it from misfortune, if offended he will seek vengeance with elaborate, devastating pranks, and violent attacks on people and livestock. Tomtes are shapeshifters and can appear in any number of guises, the most common being a small old man ranging from a few inches to a few feet in height. They traditionally take up residence in the space beneath the floorboards. One who spilled liquid in the house was advised to shout a warning to the Tomte living below.

In modern Sweden, the Tomte has been associated with Christmas, a character similar to Santa Claus.

Gnomes

Gnomes spring from European (particularly German) mythology. They are similar to various types of other household spirits of the times such as browines, nixies, goblins, etc. The modern conception of a "Garden Gnome," evolved in the city of Colonge where they are called "Heinzelmännchen," nocturnal helper spirits that tended to the gardens after hours.

In fantasy fiction, Gnomes are generally seen as a friendlier offshoot of Dwarves, generally depicted as shorter, whimsical, jolly, with the characteristic long beard and pointed hat.

Monogoblin

The results of a bizarre crossbreed of a Dream Hopper and a Goblin has produced this aberration of nature. The Monogoblin inherits the Dream Hopper's transdimensional abilities with the Goblin's vile demeanor. They infest the upper astral planes en massee, and tend to swarm into the dreams of a populated area, instilling horrible nightmares and feeding off the fear. Some of the higher astral entities have pledged to their eradication.
